Occupational Therapy – Promoting Fine Motor Development & Identifying Sensory Red Flags
November 1, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
$18
Helping young children strengthen fine motor skills and develop sensory regulation is an important focus for preschools. Join Gateways occupational therapist, Ilene Greenwald, as she shares and demonstrates strategies that teachers can implement to benefit the whole class.
This one-hour Zoom workshop is part of Gateways’ series of introductory drop-in sessions for early childhood educators. Participants can expect to gain an understanding of each topic, explore how the relevant diagnosis will present in an early childhood setting, and leave with three concrete strategies to bring back to their classrooms.
Presenter Ilene Greenwald has worked as an occupational therapist for over 25 years. She received her Bachelor’s Degree and Certificate of Advanced Professional Studies at Tufts University’s Boston School of Occupational Therapy. She has been with Gateways since its inception as the Jewish Special Education Collaborative (JSEC). Ilene has worked in a variety of sites from preschools through high schools and enjoys working collaboratively with teachers, specialists, and parents.
Workshop cost is $18 per person for schools within the CJP catchment area, and $36 per person for schools beyond the Boston area.
