Preschool Professionals Consultation Hour — December ’22
December 21, 2022 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

The goal of Preschool Professionals Consultation Hour, held once a month, is to offer an informal space where Gateways can provide consultation on inclusion and disability related issues. That could include behavioral questions, accommodations for known concerns, and resources for helping all your students thrive! These virtual Zoom sessions are free and open to members of our educational consortium. Learn more about the benefits of joining our consortium here!
For each session, you will be invited to submit specific questions and topics of interest.
We encourage teams to come together, teachers or directors on their own. Whatever would be most helpful to your school! For questions or access to the Zoom link, email Michal Pullman.
Session Facilitator
We’re excited to welcome back Amanda Gabel, LMSW, to facilitate this session. Amanda holds a Master’s from Hunter College in New York and a BS in Early Childhood Education and Human Development from Wheelock College in Massachusetts. Upon graduation, Amanda worked at the 14th Street Y in Manhattan where she built their Special Needs Services department from the ground up. Through her role at the Y, Amanda consulted internally with several departments, including the Early Childhood Center. In this capacity, she observed students and worked with teachers and directors to implement adaptive classroom tools and assist in parent-teacher conferences. In addition, Amanda developed and implemented behavior plans and conceptualized spaces in classrooms to maximize student productivity. This expertise followed Amanda to the Shames JCC, where she then rebuilt their Special Needs Services department. This experience mirrored much of her past contributions in terms of serving as a general resource to the agency and community.
