School Bullying Through the Eyes of a Survivor

June 7, 2023 @ 7:30 pm - 9:00 pm

In the foreground, a teen sits on the floor looking dejected. In the background a group of three teens can be seen talking and laughing

Jodee Blanco, the author of the seminal NY Times bestseller Please Stop Laughing at Me…. joins Gateways’ mental health speaker series to facilitate a free presentation for parents and educators. As a bullying survivor turned activist and expert, Jodee will bring her audience inside the perspective of the bullied child and share some of her most unforgettable experiences working deep in the trenches of America’s schools. Attendees will also hear firsthand from a teen speaker sharing relevant lived experience. Participants will emerge from the session armed with specific strategies, scripts, and life-saving intervention techniques for supporting any teen in pain.

The Our Daughters, Our Future mental health speaker series is sponsored with the generous support of The Miriam Fund of Boston’s Combined Jewish Philanthropies. The Miriam Fund is a philanthropic community committed to creating an equitable world that expands opportunities for women and girls. However, individual webinars in the series touch upon the experiences of girls, boys, and non-binary individuals, and parents and educators of teens of all genders are welcome and encouraged to attend.
