Development of “Meeting the Needs of All Learners in Jewish Day Schools” Self-Paced Course

Project Timeline: Summer 2026 (Approx. 6–8 weeks)
Gateways is seeking a skilled instructional designer or digital learning consultant to lead the development of a high-quality, self-paced online course. The course, titled “Meeting the Needs of All Learners in Jewish Day Schools,” is designed to empower educators with inclusive practices to support students with disabilities and diverse learning needs.
We have a course outline and deep subject matter expertise; we now require a partner to handle the instructional architecture, visual design, and technical development of the modules. Course will be developed in LearnWorlds.
Scope of Work
The selected partner will be responsible for the creation of self-paced e-learning experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Instructional Design: Transforming our existing content outline and expertise into an engaging, pedagogically sound asynchronous journey.
- Course Development: Building the course using industry-standard authoring tools
- Content Structure: Designing at least 6 major areas/modules that are cohesive, accessible, interactive, and user-friendly.
- Visual & Multimedia Design: Creating a polished, professional aesthetic with interactive elements that enhance learner retention.
- Iterative Collaboration: Working closely with our Director of Professional Learning and Consultation and our inclusion experts to refine content through a feedback-driven process.
What We Provide
- A comprehensive outline of the course goals and learning objectives.
- Direct access to Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) in special education and Jewish day school settings.
- Existing resources, branding guidelines, and raw content for the 6 content areas.
Qualifications
Proposals are invited from individuals or firms with:
- Proven experience in instructional design and development of online or e-learning courses.
- High proficiency with e-learning authoring software and Learning Management Systems
- A strong portfolio demonstrating visual design skills and interactive learner experiences.
- Experience in (or a understanding of) Jewish educational and/or non-profit sectors is preferred.
Deliverables
Expected deliverables may include (proposals may suggest additions or alternatives):
- A complete instructional design plan for the course
- Fully developed plans for at least six major course areas
- Learner-facing materials (e.g., activities, assessments)
- Final, launch-ready self-paced course materials
Proposals should address how the consultant would approach the following:
- Translating a content outline into a cohesive self-paced course architecture
- Designing engaging learning activities and knowledge checks
- Creating a consistent instructional framework across all content areas
- Advising on or developing multimedia elements (e.g., slides, videos, interactive components), as appropriate
- Ensuring accessibility and inclusive learning design
- Supporting implementation within LearnWorlds learning management system
Submission Requirements
Interested parties should submit a proposal that includes:
- Approach: A description of your instructional design and development process, including how you transform subject‑matter expertise into an engaging, self‑paced learning experience. Please note your approach to collaboration, feedback, and iteration throughout the project.
- Portfolio: Links to or examples of previous self‑paced online courses or e‑learning projects. Briefly describe your role in each project and what makes the work relevant to this engagement.
- Timeline: A proposed schedule for 6-8 week summer development cycle, including key milestones, review points, and deliverables.
- Budget: A project‑based fee proposal for the scope of work described, including a high‑level cost breakdown and any key assumptions related to scope or revisions.
- Interactivity and Accessibility Experience: A short description of your approach to accessible, interactive, and inclusive learning design, and your experience working in LearnWorlds or comparable learning management systems.
